Courage

When I think about courage, I often picture extraordinary acts—people facing danger or risking themselves for someone else. But I’ve come to believe courage is much more personal than that. Sometimes courage appears in the ordinary moments of our lives: admitting we were wrong, having a difficult conversation, starting something new, or simply taking the next step when we’re uncertain about where it will lead. In this episode, I explore how courage, fear, experience, judgment, and our values work together. Maybe courage isn’t determined by what we do. Maybe it’s determined by what doing it requires of us.

Purpose

What if purpose isn’t something we find, but something we recognize? In this episode I’ll be reflecting on the thread that has quietly woven its way through my life—from IBM leadership and mentoring to teaching, learning, and investing in others. Looking back I have discovered that purpose wasn’t hiding at all; it had been walking beside me the whole time. I hope this conversation will invite each of you to reflect on your own journey, recognize the thread running through your lives, and consider what purpose may be inviting you to do next.

Becoming

Over the past few days I’ve found myself reflecting on a simple conversation that unexpectedly changed the way I look at my own life. As I replayed that conversation, I began to see that every success, every failure, every blessing, and every challenge had been quietly shaping who I was becoming. In this first episode of Season 5, I’d like to share that journey with you. My hope is that as we explore these ideas together, you’ll begin looking at your own story through a new lens and discover that perhaps the greatest journey isn’t about achievement—it’s about becoming.

Dreamers and Doers

Some of us dream about what could be. Others feel most alive when they’re taking action. But what if most of us are actually both?

In this episode I reflect on the space between dreaming and doing — and why the distance between the two may not be as large as we think. Through personal stories, reflections on the Wright brothers, and thoughts about belief, growth, and understanding, this episode explores how dreams are shaped… and how they shape us in return.

Maybe success isn’t about leaping forward.
Maybe it’s simply about taking the next step.

Someone Has To Go First

In today’s episode we’re reflecting on the timeless wisdom of the Golden Rule—treating others the way we would want to be treated. Through a simple childhood memory of a 12-inch ruler with eleven powerful words printed on the back, let’s explore how this principle once guided everyday behavior and why its relevance remains just as important today. In a world that often feels rushed, critical, and disconnected, the Golden Rule reminds us that kindness, patience, and understanding still matter. Focusing first on small actions—one conversation, one moment, one act of kindness—brings meaningful change through our individual choices.

The Word We Protect

For more than 30 years at IBM, one word shaped my thinking, my leadership, and ultimately my life: THINK. Originally introduced by Thomas J. Watson Sr. in 1914, it wasn’t a slogan — it was a responsibility. In this episode, I share how that word moved from corporate culture into personal conviction. Through a pivotal moment involving business reporting and integrity, we explore the quiet erosion of misalignment and the power of alignment. What word do you protect? And would you live it when it costs you something? THINK may be the beginning — but living it is the real work.

It Started With Eagles

Sometimes the most important lessons don’t come from books or conversations — they come from moments we never expected to matter. In this episode, I share how watching eagles over the years led me to an unexpected realization about hate, perception, and how easily we justify differences. What started as a simple wildlife observation turned into a powerful spiritual reflection about frequency illusion, emotional attachment, and the danger of focusing on what separates us instead of what unites us. This episode isn’t really about eagles or owls — it’s about us, and the daily practice of choosing love over hate.

Beliefs

What do we really believe about ourselves—and how much power do those beliefs have over our lives? In this episode of Imagine the Possibilities, I explore the hidden beliefs we carry every day and how they shape our thoughts, choices, and future. Some beliefs lift us up, while others quietly hold us back without us even realizing it. We’ll look at where beliefs come from, how they form, and why some of them no longer serve us. More importantly, we’ll talk about how we can challenge, update, and replace limiting beliefs with ones that help us grow, rise, and move forward with purpose.

Resolutions vs. Commitments

Hello, friend. As we step into a brand-new year, many of us feel the pressure to make resolutions—only to watch them fade within weeks. In this episode of Imagine the Possibilities, I want to explore a different approach. Instead of chasing resolutions driven by guilt, pressure, or comparison, what if we chose one meaningful commitment? We’ll talk about the difference between intent and dedication and explore how focused commitment can create lasting growth. Together, we’ll look at four key areas—personal, professional, spiritual, and relationships—and how a single, intentional step can shape an entire year.
