Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my home on the web!

My name is Skip Pogue, and I am blessed and honored to be hosting this site as I continue my journey to grow and become the best version of myself I can be. It is my hope and prayer that you will find wisdom and encouragement that you can apply to your own journeys.

I am a man of faith, a son, brother, husband, father, friend, colleague and professional—all of these roles are what made me who I am today, and all of these various aspects will be a part of what I share with each of you.

Failure and success. Trials and triumphs.  Tribulation and peace. Doubt and resolution. Pain and healing. Sorrow and joy. Conflict and forgiveness.

As we navigate the path we each walk upon in this life we discover that for every negative there is always a positive. How we view the world around us can be challenging, especially if we are faced with ongoing hardships.

Despair, discouragement, doubt, fear—yet, among even these there is always hope!

I look forward to sharing my heart here and would love for each of you to share your own thoughts, stories, and adventures as well. We all face challenges, but nothing says we have to face them alone. Let’s commit to learning and growing together!

I hope that you have a SUPER day and pray that God blesses you in a SUPER way.

The Word We Protect

For more than 30 years at IBM, one word shaped my thinking, my leadership, and ultimately my life: THINK. Originally introduced by Thomas J. Watson Sr. in 1914, it wasn’t a slogan — it was a responsibility. In this episode, I share how that word moved from corporate culture into personal conviction. Through a pivotal moment involving business reporting and integrity, we explore the quiet erosion of misalignment and the power of alignment. What word do you protect? And would you live it when it costs you something? THINK may be the beginning — but living it is the...

It Started With Eagles

Sometimes the most important lessons don’t come from books or conversations — they come from moments we never expected to matter. In this episode, I share how watching eagles over the years led me to an unexpected realization about hate, perception, and how easily we justify differences. What started as a simple wildlife observation turned into a powerful spiritual reflection about frequency illusion, emotional attachment, and the danger of focusing on what separates us instead of what unites us. This episode isn’t really about eagles or owls — it’s about us, and the daily practice of choosing love over...

My Destiny

We’re all writing a book, whether we realize it or not. Every experience, every success, every setback becomes part of our story. Join me for this episode of Imagine the Possibilities, as we reflect on what it means to be the author of our own lives. My Destiny explores authorship, failure, humility, and the power of choosing our next chapters intentionally. Through a personal story and honest reflection, this episode reminds us that failure is not an identity, but information—and that even the hardest chapters can shape us for the better. Your story isn’t finished. You’re still writing...

Beliefs

What do we really believe about ourselves—and how much power do those beliefs have over our lives? In this episode of Imagine the Possibilities, I explore the hidden beliefs we carry every day and how they shape our thoughts, choices, and future. Some beliefs lift us up, while others quietly hold us back without us even realizing it. We’ll look at where beliefs come from, how they form, and why some of them no longer serve us. More importantly, we’ll talk about how we can challenge, update, and replace limiting beliefs with ones that help us grow, rise, and...

Resolutions vs. Commitments

Hello, friend. As we step into a brand-new year, many of us feel the pressure to make resolutions—only to watch them fade within weeks. In this episode of Imagine the Possibilities, I want to explore a different approach. Instead of chasing resolutions driven by guilt, pressure, or comparison, what if we chose one meaningful commitment? We’ll talk about the difference between intent and dedication and explore how focused commitment can create lasting growth. Together, we’ll look at four key areas—personal, professional, spiritual, and relationships—and how a single, intentional step can shape an entire year.

The Comparison Trap

Comparison slipped into my day without warning. One moment I was working on a podcast, and the next, I was measuring my numbers against someone else’s. It stole my joy, shook my confidence, and distracted me from my purpose. I realized how easy it is to fall into the comparison trap—and how damaging it can be when we let numbers define our worth. In this episode, I open up about what happened, what I learned, and why the only meaningful comparison is who we are today versus who we were yesterday. If we stay focused on purpose, we stay...

I was born on July 4th. My wonderful wife and I have been married 58 years. We have two married children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. My family is my rock, and my wife is the corner stone.

I have a deep seeded belief in the United States of America and the United States Constitution. I believe in the rights and freedoms that it provides, including the freedom of religion, speech, and the right of every citizen to bear arms. I also believe that it is up to “we the people” to stand up and be willing to defend the Constitution and our country against all enemies. I do not and will not vote for a political party. I will vote for people that I have researched and believe support most of my views. I will only support those that will support both the US Constitution and the United States of America as a world leader and a stronghold of freedom.

As a Christian my faith is based on my personal relationship with God. I believe that Jesus was crucified, that he died and that he was resurrected. I believe because of these events and God’s Grace that my sins are forgiven and that I will spend eternity in Heaven. That is just me, you may not believe that way, but I will pray that someday you do.

I retired after working 47 years. The last fifteen or so years were spent in management with the last position I held being the Director of Help Desk Quality Management, my responsibilities included site operations, along with training and certifications for customer facing employees. During my entire career, the things that I believe made people successful were their work ethics, integrity, and attitude. For me it was my understanding that the only way I could  be successful was if I helped all the individuals with whom I came in contact be successful  in their personal, professional, and spiritual lives.
