Welcome to Imagine the Possibilities! My name is Skip Pogue, and this is Season 2, Episode 3—Self-Talk.

Have you ever told yourself you’re not good enough? That no matter how hard you try, you’re just going to fail? If so, you’re not alone. The way we talk to ourselves—whether positive or negative—shapes how we see ourselves and the world around us.

Negative self-talk can be subtle, creeping in unconsciously, but its effects are powerful. It reinforces doubts, fuels fear, and can hold us back from achieving our goals. It might cause us to personalize failures, filter out positives, or see life in extremes. Over time, it erodes our confidence, increases stress, and limits our potential—personally, professionally, and spiritually.

But here’s the good news: we can change it. By recognizing negative patterns and shifting our inner dialogue, we can reframe our thoughts, boost self-esteem, and create a mindset that supports success. The first step is understanding what negative self-talk is, how it affects us, and, most importantly, how to overcome it. So, please join me as we explore together how to break free from negative self-talk and start lifting ourselves up instead of tearing ourselves down.
