Hello and welcome back to “Imagine the Possibilities.” I’m Skip Pogue, your host. Before diving into today’s topic, I want to share a quick reflection. After listening to our first two episodes, I realized they were heavily business-oriented, which isn’t the true essence of this podcast. Our goal is to explore all facets of life: spiritual, personal, and professional. So, moving forward, we’ll aim to maintain that balance.
Today, we’re discussing a topic close to many of us: navigating the internet and handling criticism. With our digital presence spanning Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and more, we open ourselves to both constructive criticism and plain negativity. Constructive criticism, when given with kindness, can help us improve and grow. However, online trolls aim to undermine our confidence and achievements.
We’ll explore how to discern between helpful feedback and harmful criticism, and how to protect our mental space from negativity. Remember, you have the potential to achieve remarkable things. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. Join me as we delve into strategies to stay positive and focused amidst the digital noise. Thank you for tuning in, and let’s imagine the possibilities together.

This message regarding criticism is especially meaningful for young folks. I just finished reading “The Coddling of the American Mind.” where the authors Greg Lukainoff and Jonathan Haidt emphasize the feeling of being “unsafe” when encountering criticism whether it’s constructive or not. I do plan to listen the remainder of your podcasts. Thanks!!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the comment. I have that book, but haven’t read it. I will read it as soon as I get some free time.
Enjoyed your ideas and comments on your site today.
Thanks Marion, your support, and comments are much appreciated. Enjoy life to the fullest. I have no doubt that you will accomplish remarkable things moving forward. I hope that you have a SUPER day and pray that God blesses you in a SUPER way!
